01How much it costs to rent a car per day

We found an exact price per day in 31 offers. The cheapest costs 79 zł, the most expensive 440 zł, and half of the offers are cheaper than 140 zł per day.

The daily price usually drops with a longer rental and rises in high season, at weekends and over the holidays. Small city cars with a manual gearbox are the cheapest; an automatic or a bigger car will cost you more.

02Deposit and payment card

We found deposit information in 47 offers. 30 of them require no deposit, and the highest is 10 000 zł; high deposits usually apply to premium cars.

The deposit (kaucja) is most often blocked on a card, and many rental companies only accept a credit card for this. If you have a debit card, ask before booking: some companies will accept it with a higher deposit or with extra insurance.

03Insurance and excess

Every rental car has compulsory third-party liability insurance (OC) and usually also comprehensive insurance (AC) with an excess (udział własny): the amount you pay if there is damage. Rental companies offer extra insurance that reduces the excess, even to zero. Work out whether such a package is worth it: for a short rental it can be expensive, but it protects you from a large cost.

04Mileage limit, airport and car delivery

65 of 142 offers in our database have no mileage limit. For a longer trip, check the daily limit and the price of each additional kilometre.

Airport pick-up is available in 125 offers, and delivery of the car to an address of your choice in 92. Companies often charge an extra fee for delivery, pick-up outside business hours and returning the car in another city.

05Picking up and returning the car

At pick-up, take photos of the car from all sides and check that scratches are recorded in the handover report (protokół). Pay attention to the fuel policy, most often full-to-full („pełny–pełny”): you return the car with a full tank, and missing fuel will cost you more than at a petrol station.

Young drivers (usually under 21–25) and people who have held a driving licence (prawo jazdy) for a short time may pay an extra fee. Driving abroad also often requires the rental company's consent.

06What to check before booking

  • the total price including insurance and extra fees
  • the deposit amount and whether a debit card is enough
  • the excess in case of damage
  • the mileage limit
  • the fuel policy and pick-up and return hours
  • fees for a young driver, an additional driver and driving abroad
